When looking at the cost of Equine Dentistry I feel it
is important that you completely understand the extent of what is being offered to you before you decide to have that person
work on your horse.
Cost is important.
I feel that quality is equally
if not more important to your horse who has to live with the outcome of the procedure.
I am sure that we have all experienced poorly done dental work in our
own mouths before and know how frustrating it can feel when it is not done properly
There is a wide range of different levels of quality in the field of equine
dentistry, starting at the low end with your 10 minute cowboy file float
which in my humble opinion accomplishes practically nothing, other than knocking off a few sharp points.
Lets look at what I offer.
# On site Veterinarian to oversee sedation.
# Complete visual inspection of your horse's mouth.
# Full documentation and written report of your horse's condition.
# Incisor realignment.
# Application of a"Bit Seat".
# Wave complex correction.
#
Rostral ramp correction.
# Caudal
ramp correction.
# Arcade angle correction.
# Sharp buccal and lingual points and hooks removed.
# The benefit of my 30 years in the equine industry.
Let's compare.
These are the average rates in California for equine dentistry by my competitors.
Non veterinarian cowboy float (knocking
off a few sharp points)this would probably cost you about $80 to $150. This is a very limited procedure that does not cover
everything that I have listed above.
Average Veterinarian file float (knocking off a few sharp points) including barn call fee "between"
$125 to $175
Average
Veterinarian Fully Balanced Performance Float similar to what I offer around $300 to $500 per horse depending on the
extent of the work needed.
Our Prices
In most cases our full services dentistry which includes everything that I have listed above including
our onsite veterinarian being present is $230. This covers about 90% of the horses that I work on.
In extreme cases it may cost a little more, but not more that $295.
(Still very reasonable) a savings of around $200 or more else where.
While our on site veterinarian is there you can also have your horse's vaccine done at vaccine
clinic prices.
While simple file
floating is a little cheaper, it only addresses about 20% of your horses dentistry needs.
This means that there
is 80% of your horses dentistry needs that are not met with most hand file floating.
Our work is of the highest quality and our prices very reasonable.
We do accept Visa and Master card.
